Sisters
By: Wendy Raimi
I am the brave Gabrielle! I am a bard and a scholar. I've been an Amazon
Princess, and I am best friends with Xena: Warrior Princess.
I remember all of our adventures. One of them with Khlara. I always
remember it clearly.
Xena and I were walking through the forest when Joxer came running up
to us.
"Xena!" he yelled.
Xena and I looked at each other, then turned around. Joxer finally
got up to us and his breath. Then in his "Bravest" voice he said,
"Xena! Boy am I glad I caught up to you in time."
"What is it?" asked Xena.
"There's a girl looking for you. She said her name is Khlara." answered
Joxer.
Just then we all heard a yell almost exactly like Xena's. We all got
out our weapons and stood in a war pose. Joxer was shaking a little bit.
Finally, whomever it was landed.
"Hello." she said casually. The girl was wearing black leather in Xena's
style. She was about my height with golden brown hair and hazel eyes. Her
lips were pink and she had brown and white skin color mixed together.
"Khlara, were you up there the whole time?" asked Xena suspiciously.
"Yep. If I can't be the goddess of nature I might as well live in it."
said Khlara.
"So how are you?" asked Xena.
I interrupted, "You mentioned gods?"
"I'm fine Xena. Yes, I'm goddess of weather." Khlara answered.
"WOW! Can you make it rain?" asked Joxer excitedly.
"I don't abuse my powers." answered Khlara with slight anger.
"So are you immortal?" I asked.
"Sorta. I'll live forever but I can feel most pain." she answered.
Joxer pinched her on the elbow.
"Ouch! What did you do that?" Khlara asked.
"To see if it was the truth." answered Joxer trying to look brave.
Khlara grabbed Joxer's nose and twisted it slightly and said, "If you
want something, ask for it. But you NEVER get me mad unless you want to
see how fun it is to play with lighting."
"Can you let my nose go?" asked Joxer painfully. Khlara let go.
"Xena I need your help." said Khlara.
"What?" asked Xena.
"Callisto's escaped." said Khlara a bit nervously.
"Do you know where she is?" asked Xena a little worried. I was worried
but then Joxer stepped in and said,
"Have no fear. I will help you catch her!" said Joxer "bravely". Khlara
burst out laughing and I thought I was going to join her.
"Please! You!, " she said still laughing. "You couldn't protect a fly
from a spider!" said Khlara still laughing. "When Xena was in Callisto's
body and I didn't know it I protected Argo." said Joxer matter-of -factly.
Khlara stopped laughing.
"Yes your right. I did see that. Athena also told me. It doesn't matter
though because Athena should bring her back any moment now." said Khlara
serious now. Callisto appeared before us wrapped up in chains and gagged.
"Khlara!" screamed something from the sky.
"Yes Athena?" asked Khlara a bit worried.
"What have I told you about Callisto?" asked Athena.
"To keep her guarded at all times. Never let her go. And rarely show
her to mortals." answered Khlara happily. "AND?!" screamed Athena.
"And," said Khlara thinking. "And if I don't want her sent to Tartarus,
I must try to keep her home." said Khlara happily again. There was no answer.
"Yeah! She's gone! Athena's great, but when she's mad it's not fun."
said Khlara. Khlara walked over to Callisto and un-gagged her. "Callisto
why did you escape? Don't you want to have powers and be good?" asked Khlara.
"I like no one and hate you!" Callisto answered angrily. "Will you
let me go now?" asked Callisto in her nicest voice which scared me.
"Nope. Did you do anything bad? And tell the truth." said Khlara. Khlara
walked over to Xena and whispered in her ear. Joxer was leaning over trying
to listen. Khlara walked over to Callisto.
"No keeping secrets now." said Callisto still in the same voice and
smiling.
"You'll find out. Now have you done anything?" asked Khlara.
"No." said Callisto flat out. All of a sudden a huge gust of wind came
and twirled Callisto around.
"Yes!" cried out Callisto.
"What?" asked Khlara a bit angrily.
"I lit a house on fire but that was all." said Callisto. I thought
she was about to cry and Joxer just stood where he was staring. We had
never seen Callisto so scared. It was brand new and Xena just stood there
acting like it happened every day.
Khlara whistled and a horse came trotting out into veiw. Another gust
of wind came and blew Callisto onto the horse. Khlara re-gagged Callisto
and went off.
"You can join me if you like." Khlara offered.
"Next time!" yelled Xena, as the horse with it's two riders went trotting
off. Joxer went after the two yelling "Your going to have to have some
one help you with Callisto! Let me help!!" Khlara waved at us while Joxer
was running toward her.
