Disclaimer: Oberon, Titania, the Weird Sisters, and Avalon belong to Buena Vista/ Disney entertainment. All other Characters belong to me.

Overview: A powerful race is destroyed and will change the entire isle of Avalon.

Dedicated to the People of World War I and II. They were lied to, but they gave up their lives, they were oppressed, but still kept strong.  Your memory is in my spirit.

If you haven't read "2nd Generation: A place among the stars", then you might want to do so. This story is the beginning of the ending of that story.

Special thanks to my editor Nabiki who told me if this story was good or not. I hope you won't mind if Emma is late in visiting. She wanted to stop by the motel first.

2nd Generation: Genocide

Queen Titania was tall and strong. She was considered the most beautiful out of any fae. Her and her daughter Lilly were of course, the most beautiful. But at the current moment, the soft green skin of Lady Titania was perspiring with a heavy sweat and she bared her teeth against the pain she felt in her lower body.

"My Queen," Lilly began, "You must stop pushing! For the sake of the child!" Lilly commanded as she looked between Titania and her lower body.  Titania stopped pushing and began crying.  Ariane came to the side of her queen and began to console her.

"It will be over soon enough my lady, and then, we will have the last child." Ariane said. Titania looked to the heavens and begged for mercy, but received none.

"I have to turn the child." Lilly said, worry on her face.  She was no midwife and Avalon knew it, but there wasn't a soul on earth who would comment on it.  Titania nodded and Lilly began to turn the child.

When it was done she replied, "Now push my Lady, push hard."  Titania closed her eyes, bared her teeth, and pushed.  She panted as she stopped and gulped up air.

"Harder my Queen, harder. He's almost there." Lilly said as she watched. Titania pushed as hard as she could and felt great pain explode from her. "I see the head! One more push!" Lilly said joyfully looking over to Ariane. Titania pushed once more and the head slid out, next came the shoulders, and finally the rest of the body.  Lilly smiled, cut the cord and swabbed the baby's mouth. The baby began to cry and Titania smiled.

"I want to see. Is it a boy? Like you predicted?" Titania asked.

Lilly nodded. "It is. Say hello to your son, my Queen." Lilly said as she passed the boy to his mother.  His eyes were blue, his hair had yellow fuzz, but he was beautiful.

"Oh my son, oh my precious son." Titania cooed over him. The boy smiled and giggled, which was not uncommon for a newborn fae. Titania smiled in return, but frowned as Oberon burst into the room.

"Let me see! Is it a boy? Do I have a healthy son?" He cried as he swept the boy from Titania's arms.

"Yes my lord," Lilly bowed, "It is a son. What shall his name be so the pixie court may record it."

"This is my son, Robin Goodfellow, the Puck, trickster of Avalon and my page." Oberon announced.  Lilly nodded and Ariane wrote it on the certificate. Alexandrite took the scroll and flew off. "He does not look strong." Oberon commented with a frown of his own.

"No my lord. He will be strong in mind, but not in body.  He was a complicated birth."

"Bah, then he will suit me as a page." Oberon said scowling and handing the boy back to his mother.

Titania smiled to have her son back in her arms. "He will be my son." she mumbled.

Oberon turned, outrage on his face. "You're son? My son! He will be my boy and do as I say!" Oberon commanded, then he retreated from the room.

Lilly, Ariane, and Titania all frowned. "My lord may have command over the island, but he does not have command over my children. Lilly, get me a glass of water. Ariane, take the boy to his room.  I will need to speak to Oriana." Titania commanded.

Oriana was the Dyluce Queen. She was bright, pretty, and in three weeks, ready to give birth. Ella cooed over the stomach of the mother.

"And just think my love. Only a few months ago it seemed as if it were our wedding night." Alexi said as he smiled at his wife.

Oriana nodded. "Ella, may I ask, how is your son doing?" Oriana asked her Seneschal. Ella looked up.

"My son? Ah yes! Elvin! He is doing wonderfully my queen. A mother couldn't be prouder."

"Oh Elvin, just once more." Doria begged of her lover.

Elvin sighed and turned to face his mistress. "Doria, I can't go on like this. Isn't there more than just...sex?" he asked.

Doria was shocked. "Anything more than sex? My dear, we have been making love!"

"My dear, you have been boring me to death, and that is what I am, bored." Elvin replied as he looked around for his shirt.

Doria sat up and folded her arms before her chest. "To a Dyluce there is nothing more. Just sex, and love. Plus your occasional foreplay, but all of it must be sex."

Elvin placed his face just before Doria's. "My love, to a fae, there is more than just sex, love and foreplay. There is life." Elvin answered before giving a quick kiss to Doria's lips.  She frowned as he pulled on his pants. "Don't pout like that. I'm just going home. Maybe I'll take a shower. You have occupied my time for three days."

Doria pouted some more, but replied with, "I've missed you. The last time we've done this was before Omega's Funeral pyre.  And after the pyre you seemed as if you were traumatized."

Elvin's face paled as he remembered the pyre. "Doria, have I told you I love you?" he asked as he faced his lover.

Doria went into shock again. "Love? You love me?" she asked, surprised, if not a bit flattered.

Elvin kissed her lips once more and answered, "I'll be back." Then he left.

Omega's Funeral Pyre - One year ago

Elvin watched from above as the entire Dyluce nation paid their respects to their dead queen. Paying respects to the dead meant a lavish feast and dancing to the chanting of the few musical Dylucae. But as he watched, he noticed one Dyluce who was not at the pyre, Metry.  Metry was hiding behind the cottages and making her way to the forest. She looked around occasionally to check if anyone was watching her. Then she would take a few more steps and watch again.

Wonder what she's up to. Elvin thought as he made his way down to her.

Metry headed towards the forest and gasped as she heard a twig break behind her. She turned and saw Elvin. He looked menacing in the dark with the pyre light shining upon him. She relaxed a bit as she noticed it was only him. "Elvin, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be somewhere?"

"I saw you walking by yourself and I thought you might like some company." Elvin replied as he placed a hand on Metry's shoulder. She looked at him wondering what he was up to, but his emotions gave her no reply. "Come, let's go to the forest." He said as they walked to the edge of the dark green lush forest.

"Oriana, I understand that your child will be born soon." Titania said as she sat on the floor across from the pregnant queen.  Oriana nodded and rubbed her stomach.

"Yes, that is true. Why? What concern do you have to it?"

"My husband is planning something, and I would like to be the guardian of your child if something should happen to you."

Oriana frowned. "Why?"

"If it is a girl, I want your daughter to be an apprentice to my son."

Oriana's eyes lit up with joy. "Apprentice? My daughter your son's apprentice? Why the honor my queen?"

"Because I wish for them to marry someday and restore the union between Fae and Dylucae." Titania explained.

"But my lady, they would never be able to have children, you understand." Oriana said, her face back to it's seriousness.

"I would ask permission to change your daughter to fae, so she may be compatible with my son."

Oriana thought it over for a second. "Agreed." The Dylucae queen replied. The two women smiled and shook hands.

Elvin sat outside the stick cottage and pulled at the grass. He tore the blade in his hands to shreds, and then picked out another blade. He tore the next blade to shreds and threw it to the ground.

"Having fun?" Ella asked as she approached.  Elvin looked up and smiled.  His eyes seem to express a love that could never be felt by anyone else. He stood solemn for a moment.

"Hello mama." He said with a soft boyish smile.

Ella smiled the kind of smile you would only see on a mother. "Come inside, my boy, and make me some tea."

Chamomile tea was Ella's favorite and after Elvin placed the leaves into the pot he sat next to his mother. His mother sat in a wicker rocking chair and was knitting. Elvin sat on the floor next to the rocking chair.

"Sit in a chair boy. There's plenty around." Ella commented softly as she rocked and knitted.

"It's all right mama. I like sitting here." Elvin replied as he inspected his fingernails.

"Like a dog. You've sat in that same spot ever since you were born. I'd put a chair there and you'd push it away.  You have more respect for an old Dyluce woman than any fae in the world." Ella said as she continued to rock and knit.

"It's because I love you mama." Elvin said as he looked up to his mother.

Ella stopped rocking, laid down her knitting and took Elvin's chin in the palm of her hand. "You are a silly boy, my dear.  I love you all the same, but I wish I knew where these emotions came from. Fae do not occupy these emotions and neither do Dyluce." Elvin's smile dropped and he looked disheartened. Ella gave a silent sigh and smiled. "Don't look depressed, my dear. I never said it was a bad thing, I said I just wish I knew more about your life." Ella remarked. Elvin smiled as the pot whistled.

~ Flashback ~

Some time during Queen Mab's last year of ruling.

She ran through the forest, praying she wouldn't get caught. Aria had been having an affair and she currently carried her child in her womb. If she were caught her husband, Dysnius, would be angry and she could not hide forever.  If a fae were her lover, she would have no fear. Dysnius could easily kill the fae and life could go on. She wouldn't miss a fae lover. There were tons everywhere. The problem was that a human was Aria's lover, and she secretly loved this human. Humans were hard to come by, even though they were plentiful as well.  His name was Memorex and he was a member of Cleopatra's court. Aria wasn't sure what he was exactly, but it didn't matter. She was sure he had told her once before. She didn't care though, all she knew was that she loved him, but in the morning he was going to another country, Rome, she thought, and Aria wouldn't be able to see him for a long time. It would be hard for her to travel to a different place while she carried her child.  She sat under a tree and began to cry.  She didn't know what to do and she understood nothing of it. Why her life had to be such a curse. She rubbed her stomach and smiled.  A mirror dream had told her that she was to have a son.

"Oh Elvin, I hope you will never have to experience the pain of love."

"You had said you love me." Doria said as she stirred the pot of potatoes.

Elvin turned and laughed. "I said that I loved you? Doria, have you been dreaming again? I don't love you." he said as he started pacing again.

"But you asked me if you had told me recently if you had said I love you to me." Doria said as she placed the ladle down and stood.

Elvin shook his head. "Well, I don't, all right. I don't love you. First off, I'm not allowed to love. Second off, even if I was allowed, I wouldn't love you. I hate you."

Doria frowned. "That's not what you said yesterday." Doria said with a devious smile.

Elvin sighed. "You're crazy. I'm going home."

Doria hit the air with a fist. "Elvin, what in Avalon is wrong with you!?" she demanded.

"Nothing! Just...just leave me alone!" Elvin cried as he ran out of the cottage and into the forest.

~ Flashback ~

Some time before Queen Cleopatra's Death.

Memorex paced back and forth in his private chambers. He had come back from Rome two months ago. He didn't know how long he could keep his charade up.  Aria would find out sooner or later that he was a fae. No less an out casted one. The problem was, he was a halfling and a bad one at that. He wasn't even a quarter fae. He was even less. He was only eighth of a fae, and that was nothing. Aria hadn't come to visit him in days and he wondered what was wrong.  If she were in trouble, he couldn't go and help, because he had lost all his power to find Avalon.

"Please, Aphrodite, let her be all right." He prayed to his Greek god. He knew he should pray to a Roman or Egyptian god, but what good would that do? He knew there was no such thing as a god. For if there were, he wouldn't have his problems with Aria.

Elvin sat outside his mother's cottage, crying. As Ella approached, like she always did, she kneeled down to her son and wrapped him in her arms. "Elvin, what is wrong? What's happened? Qu'est qui passe?" Ella asked. Elvin sobbed, but turn to cry into his mother's shoulder. Ella rubbed his back. "Elvin, don't cry so. Come inside and tell me what's wrong."

Inside, Elvin sat on his mother's lap. Mother sat in her wicker rocking chair. "Now tell me. What's wrong?"

"I love Doria and I can't tell her because it's not allowed and today I told her I hated her and now I think she believes me." Elvin said as he sobbed.

Ella patted his back. "Now Elvin, I'm sure she doesn't. I bet she believes that everything is all right and that deep down she knows you really love her."

Elvin nodded. "I hope so."

*                       *                        *

While Elvin and Doria sorted out their feelings, other, more disturbing things were happening.

Titania watched from afar as Oberon stood in front a group of cowering Dylucae. "Do you fear me?" He demanded from them. The group nodded. "Speak!" He demanded from them.

"Yes oh great Lord Oberon!" they replied, trying to hide their fear.

"Pathetic." Oberon muttered. He waved his hand as the cowering group hid their eyes. They didn't know what they had done to deserve his anger, but they no longer had the time to contemplate what they did do wrong, for in a moment, they were nothing but dust.

Titania gasped. "Genocide." She whispered out loud.

*                        *                        *

"Queen Titania! The Genocide! It has begun!" Lilly cried as she rushed into the throne room frantically.

Titania nodded and replied, "Yes child, I know. I watched as Oberon destroyed the twentieth group."

"You know?" Lilly asked, amazed that her queen knew.

"Yes, I've known."

"How many have been destroyed? How many are left?"

"Most of the nation has been destroyed. The only ones left are the royal court, two elders, and seven civilians."

"That is?"

"Ella, Alexi, Oriana, Tara, Mabel, Sashi, Metry, Doria, Valentine, Sugar, Daylight, Firestone, and Shadow. If we're lucky, we could save Oriana's child. In counting, there's thirteen left. Lilly, we are going to lose the world's best warriors."

"What are you going to do my Queen?" Lilly asked fearfully.

"The civilians I will send to the mortal world. I will place the spell of immortality on them. The elders want their death. They say it is Ragnaroc. Oriana and Alexi just want to hide. As for Ella, she has disappeared completely." Titania responded.

"And of Oriana's unborn child, what of she?"

"If we're lucky, I can save her, but we must let nature take its course."

"What of the speeding up spell? The one you used on the Puck?" Lilly asked, hope showing in her voice.

Titania shook her head. "It won't work on a Dylucae. I promise you Lilly, I'm trying everything I can."

"It doesn't seem like it." Ariane said as she entered the room. Lilly gasped as she turned around and Titania looked up.

"What would you suggest I do Ariane? Kill my Lord?" Titania asked, ice in her voice.

"No, but there must be something instead of just letting the warriors die."

"As I asked before, what do you suggest? Only the seven request to be sent to the mortal realm, all the others ask for death."

"Beg for mercy from Oberon." Ariane said as if she really didn't care what happened.

"No. I will not lower myself to such standards." Titania replied, standing.

"Then let the Warriors die." Ariane said as she turn to leave.

"My lady, I would plead on their behalf." Lilly volunteered.  Titania looked to her silver haired child.

"No Lilly. There must be another way.  Did Mab have Oberon promise her anything?"

"I could check with Alexandrite."

"Hurry then, for the sake of the warriors."

*                      *                     *

"Mama, what's wrong?" Elvin asked worriedly. Ella sat in the clearing of a forest, crying. She looked up, dried her eyes and shook her head.

"Elvin! Get away! We're dying!" Ella cried out in a whisper.

"What? I don't understand, mama, what's going on?" Elvin asked fearfully.

Oberon appeared. "Elvin, are you associating with this...this dirt?"

"She's not dirt my lord, she's_"

"No, I am dirt! Don't listen to him my lord!" Ella interrupted.

Oberon looked down at Ella. "Good, because that is where you are going." Oberon said. With a wave of his hand, a bolt of green lighting hit the frightened Ella. She gasped and her eyes closed. Oberon disappeared while hearing the scream of Elvin's horror.

"Mama!" He cried out. He flew to his knees and held her hand. "Mama, mama, wake up! Please be all right. Please mama, wake up." Elvin said, crying. Ella's eyes opened, but in low slits. She pulled something from her neck and Elvin saw it was her necklace that she always wore. "Oh no. Please mama, you're going to be all right." Elvin said, tears strolling down his cheeks. Ella smiled and handed the necklace to her son.

"Replicate to the one you love." Ella whispered. She closed her eyes and her breathing stopped. Elvin closed his hand and wept for his mother.

~ Flashback ~

Sometime after Cleopatra's death but before the ending of Queen Mab's rule.

"Aria, don't speak, please, we'll be found."

"Memorex, it's over. Why didn't you tell? Why? What of our child?"

"Hide him, Aria, keep him in secret. Go, hide for yourself. Aria, you'll never have the child if you stay here."

"I won't leave you!"

The door opened and Augustus Caesar stood in the way.  "Who are you?" he demanded.

"I am Memorex, and this is my wife Aria. Please spare her life. Take mine in her place. Can't you see? She's with child."

"Kill them. Both." Caesar said. Aria screamed.

Dysnius heard crying and turned around. He saw a baby lying on the ground.

"What is a baby doing in the forest?" he asked himself. No matter. He left it there.

As Ella flew over the forest she heard screaming. Fearing that it was one of her own, she landed on the forest floor and looked around.  A baby, naked, lay a few feet from her. She walked over and picked it up. She smiled as the baby smiled.

"Hello little one. Comment vous appelez-vous? How do they call you?" Ella asked, curious. The baby laughed and giggled. "Well, your ears are pointed, so that means you are fae." Ella deduced. She looked the baby over and found blood on his feet. She frowned. "Obviously your parents have been killed, but where? I smell magic on you. Baby named?" The baby giggled again. Ella sighed. "Oh little one who descends from Elves...that's it! I will call you Elvin."

~ End Flashback ~

"Oberon! I command you to stop!" Titania cried as she burst into the throne room. Ariane and Puck looked up. The Puck had been growing steadily these past few days and looked like the equivalent of a three year old human.

Oberon looked from his seat on the throne. "Stop what, my lady?" Oberon asked.

"The killing of the Dylucae. The court and elders are dead! Do you plan to kill them all?"

"Yes."

"But why? What have they done to you?" Titania asked.

"They are harlots. They corrupted Avalon. With their death, we can expand." Oberon explained with a smile. "Why? Do you not wish to expand our island?" he asked.

"If it means the death of the natives? Then no. They take up nearly no room at all." Titania responded.

"Titania, my lady, you may save the ones you can, but this time, I will have my vengeance."

"Yes, oh my great sovereign, you will have your vengeance, and my revenge." Titania whispered as a reply.

Metry, Doria, Valentine, Sugar, Daylight, Firestone, and Shadow had all fled to the mortal realm thanks to Titania. The only ones who did not wish to leave were Oriana and Alexi. The others had all been destroyed.

~ Flashback ~

Two months before half the nation was destroyed.

It was a scream like nothing heard before and all of Avalon flocked to it. When they arrived, the sight they found was harrowing. On the ground lay Metry. Next to her was an egg that was broken. Metry had had a miscarriage.

"Metry, what has happened?" Oriana asked.

Metry looked up. "I was walking, then I felt something painful. I fell to the floor, pushed, and my egg came out broken." She explained. People looked at the egg and gasped. The ears were pointed.

"That's impossible!" Alexandretta cried out, "Dyluce can not carry fae children."

"It is a hybrid." Metry replied. The gathering gasped again.

"Metry, whose child is it?" Oriana asked.

"Elvin's." She replied. The gathering gasped and turned towards Elvin. He looked around and fainted.

*                      *                      *

"Elvin! Elvin! Brother, wake up! Wake up!" Orion called as he patted his brother's cheek.

Elvin came `round and looked about. "Orion?" He asked as his vision cleared up. Orion slapped him.

"What the hell were you thinking!?" Orion yelled.

"About what?"

"You got Metry pregnant!"

"How the hell was I suppose to know!?"

"Did you use the control?" Orion asked.

Elvin blushed. "No."

"Shit Elvin! You could've had a kid! You're only a kid yourself! You act like a kid, and Avalon knows you think like a kid! Kids havin' kids! It ain't right! No less a hybrid! You could've been killed!" Orion cried as he paced around the room.

"Well. I'm not in trouble."

"Like hell you ain't! Oberon's disowned you and Oriana demands an apology to the Dyluce nation. What do you say to that?"

"An apology? But no fae has ever apologized to a Dyluce." Elvin said worriedly.

Orion grinned, but it wasn't a welcoming one. "Well guess what my friend. You aren't a fae anymore, therefore you must apologize."

"Great! What am I considered now?"

"A mortal." Orion responded.

Elvin rubbed his eyes and then placed his hands on the side of his head. "Orion I never meant to harm anyone. This was just an easy target."

"Elvin my boy, you have a lot to learn."

"Yeah. So will the Puck." Elvin said.

~ End Flashback ~

Oriana pushed, and the egg fell from her lower regions, onto the floor. It broke and a baby Dyluce was born.

"A girl, my love." Alexi whispered.

Oriana picked up the crying baby girl. "Organa. I want to name her Organa." She said happily. Alexi nodded and wrapped the baby in a purple blanket. After a moment the two shivered and turned around.

Oberon stood behind them. "You have committed a great crime. The birth of a Dyluce baby." The fey lord waved his hand. Alexi quickly shoved his baby onto the floor and closed his eyes. Pain erupted all around his body. Oberon had destroyed the couple. He picked up the child and looked her over. "Perhaps a concubine for my own use may not be so bad." Oberon said allowed with thoughts forming in his mind.

"My lord, the hypocrite." Titania said as she entered.

Oberon turned and frowned. "You dare call your lord a hypocrite?"

"When the title fits, yes."

Oberon looked at the baby, shrugged and he handed her to Titania. "You love them so much, then you may have the child."

"Thank you my lord." Titania said with a smile.

"What are you hoping? That she will repopulate Avalon with her kind."

"No my lord. I have her life destined out, but I will make sure you will not disturb it."

"How?"

"You promised your mother that if the Dylucae should ever die, you would not kill the last one. Here she is. She is mine to command, as are your children mine to command. You have your leave Oberon."

"But my queen_"

"Go." Titania commanded. Oberon disappeared. Titania smiled and disappeared, with green magic following her.

*                       *                      *

Titania appeared near a large oak tree, on a vacant cliff. She engulfed the baby in green magic while three pixies watched nearby.  When the magic disappeared, a fae girl of about 15 lay on the grass. Titania smiled. The girl was gorgeous. "She will make for a lovely apprentice." Titania whispered.  She wished not to wake the girl, but vital information had to be told to her. Instead, Titania waved her hand and violet-blue magic engulfed the girl's head. "Remember my daughter." Titania said. As she stood there adoring her little one, the pixies came over.

"What is her name, Lady Titania?"

"That is for her to know, and for Avalon to find out."

"Do you request anything from us?" the shortest pixie asked.

"Just that you watch over her until the Puck arrives."

"Which will be when?" asked the tallest pixie.

"In about a week, our time." Titania said, continuing to smile.  The pixies nodded and swarmed over the little one. Titania nodded and disappeared.
