Why has the silence

become so deafening
Why do I feel
as if I've gone blind
to the things around us.

The earth has begun to shatter
the world is falling apart
and all I see is you
hypnotized
by you.

I remember when the silence
spoke volumes between us
When a simple touch meant life
and nothing
meant death.

Yet now I sit and wonder
what has happened to us?
I feel like I am screaming
and yet you do not hear
Am I hearing you?
Are you yelling?
Am I crying?
